Every woman, mother and child deserves to be happy. Women Empowerment and Leadership’s team share’s a plate with newly arrived Afghan sisters to welcome 2022 with joy and happiness. We fully understand every one of them left their loved ones back at home in Afghanistan. We understand that their mental state is not in the best situation therefore picnics like this are the best cure to ones mental health. Every single one of these sisters have tears in their eyes when they talk about their family back home. Although we know they are unhappy, WEL team tries their best to bring a smile to their lips for a few minutes by taking them out, getting together and sharing a plate. It is important to listen and allow them to speak up about their experiences and feelings

Women Empowerment & Leadership against Domestic Violence!

Message from WEL Director Rita Anwari & Ambassador of domestic violence Christina Terita. Our hearts are heavy with lots of another beautiful young mother leaving and a chid without the love and affection of his mother.  As a result of disrespect, abusive, violent act of domestic violence by her partner. WEL understands that domestic violence is a sensitive issue and many women who are being victims are a shame of talking about or they are not very certain any more about the correct treatment and respect they deserve as disrespect and aggression is often displayed towards them every day by intimate person in their lives. Rita and I want you to become more aware that domestic violence is a circle of disrespectful and abusive behavior that start to become violent. It’s also important to know that continuing abusive behavior impact the view of children and young people on how to it’s the right way to treat their mother and other females around them. It’s important to identify and reach out for assistance calling services or discuss that with appropriate people such as your GP and counsellors’ helplines. WEL works to provide you with best guidance and the utmost discretion through our support groups deliver by professional in collaboration with other services provides such white ribbon. WEL Team stands by you to put an end to domestic.

Women Empowerment & Leadership working towards helping families.

Women Empowerment & Leadership is happy to announce that another family has been able to leave Afghanistan and move to Australia. Our director and founder of Women Empowerment & Leadership, Rita Anwari has worked really hard on this family’s case as there was many ups and downs in trying to get them to flee the country. She faced many hardships but still aside form all of that she did not give up! Her efforts were shown through these families as they were in the plane coming towards Australia. It truly shows that hard work always pays off. Women Empowerment & Leadership will continue to work towards helping families and volunteering for those in need. We find so much happiness from seeing all these families being moved to a safe and sound place.

Another Success of Women Empowerment & Leadership Team!

As per the vision of women Empowerment & Leadership, we are trying to help those who need our assistance in this tough time in order to empower and support those in need. From 15th of August 2021, we as a team have helped so many Afghan Refugees to settle peacefully in the land of opportunities. Our Founder and Director of Women Empowerment & Leadership, Rita Anwari, has been working tirelessly day and night to help all the families who need support. She has helped those who have had visas for Australia but were stuck in Kabul. It brings us so much joy to see these beautiful pictures of these innocent children who landed from a direct flight from Islamabad to Australia. This gives us so much happiness and support to keep working towards helping more families to continue our humanitarian journey. Our other mission is to also help the newly arrived Afghans to settle in Australia through our volunteer settlement programme. We continue to work towards helping the families who are at high risk in Afghanistan. Stay tuned for more to come!

Women Empowerment & Leadership’s program on preventing family domestic violence.

Women and girls need to be taught and made aware of the issues around domestic violence. Further knowledge is needed in order for an individual to understand the repercussion and issues of domestic violence. Due to the lack of conversation around the topic of domestic violence, many have drifted away from understanding the concept and being aware.   What is domestic violence? It is a pattern of coercive control exercise by one person towards other. It occurs between people in intimate relationship more likely to occur between partners. It’s a choice that an individual makes to manipulate and display of power over someone. Signs of recognising domestic violence abuse: Physical abuse Emotional abuse Psychological Sexual abuse Economic and harassment How can we help? Support can be found through support groups and through Women Empowerment & Leadership professional group. Women need to talk to someone about issues they face in order to gain advice or help. Our Ambassador of prevention of domestic violence, Chrisitna Terita, is part of our women Empowerment & Leadership team as she helps raise awareness and educate women and ladies upon the topic of domestic violence.

Director and Founder of Women Empowerment & Leadership welcoming the newly arrived Afghans.

Women Empowerment & Leadership would like to announce some great news of more groups of Afghan’s who have arrived in Brisbane this week. This shows that hard work and teamwork can change peoples lives forever. As we can see in the photos of some lovely families who have taken a photo with Rita Anwari. There were many other families who arrived but due to not obtaining the consent for their photos we decided to only post these ones. We will still in the future share their stories of their lives and how they arrived and settled in Australia. We are so proud of our team tirelessly working to help dreams come true. We have been working over the past few months helping and trying our best for the removal of families from Afghanistan to Australia. It is such a happy moment for us to be able to see such families arrive and to be able to settle in comfortably in Brisbane. Again, a huge thanks to Women Empowerment & Leadership for helping and doing so much!
