Ramadan Food Package Distributed

Women Empowerment and Leadership distributed Ramadan Food Packages for the vulnerable Afghan Women and Children in Kabul. During this holly month, it is our obligation to provide and extend a helping hand to the needy. As the majority of Afghan population is living under the poverty line, a lot of people are therefore vulnerable and at risk of hunger. Therefore, those privileged and able to help are obligated with providing as much as they can. By this post, WEL is not seeking for raising funds, but we insist on finding appropriate ways for everyone around the world, who can and will help to support as much as they can. This is the time that you can make a difference to humanity and prevent collapse of a generation due to hunger. WEL will continue supporting the vulnerable families, especially women and children in Afghanistan. Please follow the process of our Ramadan Food Package Support on the coming days.

International Day of Journalism!

On the occasion of the International Day of Journalism, Women Empowerment and Leadership (WEL) association procured and distributed a basic food package for the families of 20 Afghan Journalists in Afghanistan. The basic food package included flour, rice, and oil beside other commodities. Afghan journalists have played a significant role to be the voice of the nation and defended the basic human rights in the country. While they represent the general population through exercising the right of freedom of speech, nowadays it seems that they have been deprived of that right. Silencing the journalists gives the impression that the new administration in Afghanistan is attempting to silence the nation. To prove this assumption wrong, we request the new administration in Afghanistan to ensure that the freedom of speech right is preserved for all, particularly for the Afghan journalists who tirelessly work to ensure a better community in Afghanistan. Once again, we wish the International Journalism Day to everyone, and hope that the families supported through this program have accepted our assistance as a small token of appreciation for the brilliant work they are doing.

International Women’s Day 2022

First and foremost, on International Women’s Day, I wish all the women of the world, and especially the Afghan women, who suffered too much! Despite severe restrictions and difficult security and social conditions, fortunately today we were able to bring together a number of women and celebrate International Women’s Solidarity Day to show the world that Afghan women, despite the threats and anti-feminist pressures, still stand for active participation in the development process of Afghanistan. Held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Kabul, the purpose of this event is to enhance women entrepreneurs and support their active participation in business so that Afghan women can achieve greater achievements in the future. Afghan women are the driving force of our society and should play a significant role in the prosperity of Afghanistan’s economy and industry. I admire such women. Thanks to the working group that worked tirelessly, especially to Mr. Sayed Nazim Khelwati for organizing and coordinating the event. With the financial support of Ms. Rita Anwari

Welcome to Australia, the land of opportunities

04/03/22 Women Empowerment and Leadership Founder Rita Anwari Sultani welcomes another two families from Afghanistan with a delicious cake as usual. After 6 months of her hard work, eventually, she made it to assist them to get to Australia, the land to the opportunities, and give second chance to these beautiful children. It is quite stressful what they have been through for the past few months, on the other hand it is also relieving to know that they are out of the stressful situation. Particularly, for the kids who had to bear the impact of the wrong politics that the adults did in the country. But now a bright future can be ensured for them in Australia, where they can receive their desired education and their basic human rights. As an organization entirely dedicated to the empowerment of women, WEL will always be here to support these kids in every step of their journey for a better future in Australia, including finding the best pathways for education. It is timely to thank all the people who helped us get these families out of misery. Lives have changed for good thanks to the roles these amazing people played in securing visas and relocating these families out of Afghanistan. In particular, Senator Paul Scarr and his office for their tireless support to this family and so many more.

WELCOMING FAMILIES!

Women Empowerment and Leadership founder Rita Anwari Sultani and Secretary Leila Loei – Ms Austraila World Ambassador welcomed the three Afghan families who just arrived in Australia this week with a colourful cake, toys for children and dignity bags for women. It is a pleasant feeling to see younger children, especially girls getting better chances to make a bright future for themselves. Meanwhile, it is also painful to hear their sad stories and things they have been through. It is really unfortunate that minor kids had to go through all those misery in Afghanistan due to failed politics. They spent most of their childhood in battlegrounds instead of playgrounds, it is such a shame that the politicians have failed them over and over again.

Today she was able to drop off some traditional Afghan vegetables for the newly arrived who are still currently in hotels. As she knows they don’t have access to the flee markets, she brought the flee market to them. This brought them immense amount of joy as they felt like they were back home. Small acts of kindness can make many peoples days.

WEL’s Valentines Day

This year, 50 street children were WEL’s Valentine As part of its support for the needy women and children in Afghanistan, Women Empowerment and Leadership (WEL) association celebrated Valentine’s Day by hosting 50 street children for lunch in a fancy hotel. Getting their families fed three times a day is a dream for most of these minor children, let alone going out for lunch. WEL has provided them with the opportunity. While the children of their age across the world are enjoying their childhood, these children must labour every day to fight hunger and poverty.Following the unprecedented events in Afghanistan, and the extremely hard winter, laboring for the daily meal has become more challenging. Therefore, it is timely for all the people and organizations who can assist, to step up and provide for the needy women and children in Afghanistan.

Welcome to Australia and this world!

Yesterday was a day to mark one of the major events in our history in Australia, Australia Day. As well as celebrating such thing, we were able to welcome a new baby who belongs to one of the newly arrived Afghan families. It was of such great joy for both yourselves and the family. The director and founder of Women Empowerment & Leadership, Rita Anwari and her secretary Leila Loei were able to have a visit to this family. Along with them, gifts were also taken for the mother and child. We are so glad this baby was able to be born with all the facilities and the best service that she can receive because she is in a safe country. She is so privilege to be born in a country that has rights and has laws. Women and girls are equal and have the right to speak in this country. This bundle of joy is one of these girls and women. We can see a bright future for this child as she has everything available to her. We can see her future in to being a bright lovely doctor, or a lawyer or an engineer. We understand that this country brings lots of opportunities for such individuals who came from a place where they had nothing. We understand that everything was taken from them and were not treated equally. Once again to Australia and this beautiful world!
