A gathering in respects and acknowledgment of the situation in Afghanistan, held within our community in Brisbane by Woman Empowerment and Leadership

On the 19ht of August, Women Empowerment & Leadership alongside Brisbane gathered as a community for the lighting up of the Afghan Flag in the Brisbane City. We would like to say a huge thanks to the Brisbane City Council for allowing us to gather and celebrate such a day. We would like to thank them for lighting the Brisbane City Council up for us. Also, would like to thank Shannon Fentiman MP for lighting up the Parliament House for Afghanistan. We were grateful to have the lights light the night sky up in the three colours of black, red and green for Afghanistan.

This event was hosted by Women Empowerment & Leadership. We want to thank everyone who came and complied with the COVID restrictions. This was a great time to stand in solidarity for the situation in Afghanistan but also unite for the National Flag Day of Afghanistan.
