Women and girls need to be taught and made aware of the issues around domestic violence. Further knowledge is needed in order for an individual to understand the repercussion and issues of domestic violence. Due to the lack of conversation around the topic of domestic violence, many have drifted away from understanding the concept and being aware.
What is domestic violence?
It is a pattern of coercive control exercise by one person towards other. It occurs between people in intimate relationship more likely to occur between partners. It’s a choice that an individual makes to manipulate and display of power over someone.

- Emotional abuse
- Sexual abuse
- Economic and harassment
How can we help?
Support can be found through support groups and through Women Empowerment & Leadership professional group. Women need to talk to someone about issues they face in order to gain advice or help.
Our Ambassador of prevention of domestic violence, Chrisitna Terita, is part of our women Empowerment & Leadership team as she helps raise awareness and educate women and ladies upon the topic of domestic violence.
